Nollywood actress Uche Montana has denied allegations linking her to the alleged drug abuse crisis in the household of actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, Montana said, “My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims. For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace.”
The marital crisis between Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, took a dramatic turn, with allegations of domestic abuse, drug addiction, and manipulation flying back and forth between the couple.
Regina Daniels, 25, who married Senator Nwoko, 64, in 2019, has accused her husband of introducing her to drugs and forcing her into marriage at 17. She claims she was subjected to domestic abuse and described herself as a “slave” in his house.
However, Senator Nwoko has countered these claims, stating that Regina is battling drug and alcohol addiction and has produced toxicology reports to support his allegations. He has also accused Regina’s family and friends, including actress Uche Montana, of sabotaging her rehabilitation process.
The couple’s marital crisis has sparked a public debate, with many calling for Senator Nwoko’s prosecution over alleged crimes against a minor. Regina, on the other hand, is fighting for her freedom and dignity, claiming that their union wasn’t legally recognized.
The controversy surrounds allegations by Nwoko that Regina’s siblings and friends, including Montana, sabotaged her rehabilitation process. Regina had earlier alleged domestic abuse, describing herself as a “slave” in her husband’s house, while Nwoko claimed she was battling addiction and accused her of violent behavior.
