Uriel Oputa, a Nigerian reality star, has called for the regulation of the activities of property agents as she expressed her frustrations after dealing with a number of agents.
The Big Brother Naija reality star narrated how an agent asked her for $20 just to view a property she was interested in. She said another demanded she pay N25,000 before allowing her to see a property.
“Some of these agents are out here playing God,” she wrote.

She added that the practice is “highly illegal” and called for the regulation of the activities of agents.

If not for my quick thinking, I would have sent money to the wrong people-not once, not twice, but three times.
This is scary.
It’s like everywhere you turn, someone is trying to scam you. From fake agents to shady listings, navigating this property search is starting to feel like a minefield.
We need to start having real conversations
about regulation and protection for everyday people. This isn’t normal, and it shouldn’t be accepted.”
