
The Hausa film industry is mourning the loss of veteran Kannywood actress Wasila Isma’il.
The actress passed away at 46 after a long illness.
According to reports, Wasila’s husband, Al-Amin Chiroma, confirmed her passing in a social media post on Sunday, disclosing that she died at FOMWAN Hospital in Kaduna.

Born in Kaduna, she began her acting career in 1998 with the film Jinin Masoya.
She became well known for her roles in Hausa films and gained prominence after starring in the 1999 film Wasila, directed by Yakubu Lere and starring Ali Nuhu.
Since her passing, fans and colleagues have shared tributes on social media, remembering her contributions to the Kannywood film industry.
Meanwhile, the entire Ghanaian entertainment industry was thrown into deep mourning following the death of popular Ghanaian actress and TV personality Beverly Afaglo.
Her husband, Eugene Baah, who is a musician and popular as ‘choirmaster‘, announced the death via his verified Instagram page on Sunday morning.
The Choirmaster, formerly of the Ghanaian music group ‘Praye’, penned an emotional tribute to his late wife. According to him, the actress had died only four days to her birthday.

Sharing her photos, he wrote: “My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo!!! It would have been just like 4 More days to your birthday but I guess the Lord wanted to Celebrate with you so he Called you.
“You were my strength, My Happiness, and the reason my life felt Complete. Every Moment with you was a blessing I will Cherish Forever !! I am hearing your voice right Now Cheering me up as always my Number one☝️fan!! I promise to take care and continue everything we planned and started !! Until my last breath, you will remain in My Heart ❤️ Forever!!! Sleep well my babe!!!”
