Victor AD Reveals How Hardship Prepared Him For Stardom

Nigerian Singer/Songwriter, Victor Adere better known as Victor AD has become a phenomenon on the Nigerian music scene since the release of groundbreaking single, “Wetin We Gain”. The singer covers the latest issue of Taylor Live Magazine where he talks about his career, growing up in the slums and the inspiration behind his music.

Speaking on his background, Victor AD shares; “I grew up in both kirikiri Lagos and Warri. Growing up in these two places affected me and my music. I guess all I can say is that the struggles and trials have been preparing me for the journey ahead. What can i say? I thank God for everything.”

On his love for music, the artiste said; “I have always had a love for music right from when I was a little kid. I feel the same way about any and all my songs they are the best they can be, I mean it’s like having 3 kids you can’t love anyone of them any less. I listen to and respect Jay Z, 2 Face, Brymo, Lucky Dube and others.”

On his most recent body of work, the “Red Eye EP”, the artiste commented; “The EP tells the story of Victor AD, the scars I have sustained and the struggles I have been through, a young man who is not perfect and who has made mistakes several times. The irony of the whole matter is that we have all made more mistakes while trying to correct the existing mistake. I want the world to learn from my story. The EP is dedicated and made for all the ghetto kids out there. Let all the scars and the struggle you’ve been through motivate you. Have no fear.”
