Award-winning artist and writer, Victor Ehighale Ehikhamenor is 50 today, and we wish him a very happy birthday!

Victor Ehikhamenor is a Nigerian visual artist, writer, and photographer, once described as one of Africa’s most innovative contemporary artists and one of 42 African Innovators to Watch.
Born in Udomi-Uwessan, Edo State. He has a BA degree in English and Literary Studies from Ambrose Ali University. He also holds an MS in Technology Management and MFA in Creative Writing from University Of Maryland, College Park, USA.
Ehikhamenor has been prolific in producing abstract, symbolic and politically motivated works with unmistakable ties to his old Benin Kingdom background. His works are influenced by the duality of African traditional religion and the interception of Western beliefs, memories and nostalgia.
In 2017, he was selected along with three other artists to represent Nigeria at the Venice Biennale, the first time Nigeria would be represented in the event.
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see. Victor Ehikhamenor’s works are great and outstanding.
Angels and Muse opened in Lagos
Last year, the artist opened a multi-modal co-working space in Lagos called Angels and Muse. It’s a marvelous one, walls draped with murals, stained glass, and beautiful lighting making for a stunning visual and immersive experience.
