British-Nigerian-American actor, David Oyelowo, had hinted sometime in 2018, of his feature on an upcoming horror film, which is now set for release. The movie which was originally titled “Relive”, is produced by Jason Blum from “Get Out” .

Following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the name of the film was changed to “Don’t Let Go”, and has now gotten a release date and an official trailer.

The movie follows Jack Radcliffe (Oyelowo), a Los Angeles detective whose entire family dies in what appears to be a murder. Following this, he gets a phone call from one of the dead, his niece (Storm Reid), and becomes unsure of whether he’s hallucinating or not.

The film focuses on his pursuit to understand and eventually prevent the chain of events that led to the death of his niece and her parents. The first full-length trailer hints at this character’s manic struggle to try and solve the murder across different timelines.

Directed by Jason Aaron Estes, the film also stars Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) and Mykelti Williamson (Fences).
“Don’t Let Go” has been described by critics as “suspenseful”, “engaging” and “a pressure cooker for some strong performers”. It is set to hit theaters on August 30.
