An emotional video showing the moment one of the daughters of late Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, Kira Tawio, crying on Instagram Live following her father’s death has surfaced on social media.
It would be recalled that the actor, 66, had died today, August 23rd, after a long battle with stage 4 cancer.

Taiwo confirmed the tragic news during the Instagram Live.
Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Haleemah, had earlier disclosed that doctors diagnosed their father with advanced cancer about three weeks ago.
They appealed to Nigerians and medical experts to help the family explore possible treatment options after conventional treatment became difficult due to the severity of his condition.
Kira, visibly distressed and in tears, announced her father’s death while asking her sister and family to help her return home to see him before his burial.

His colleague, actor Prince Jide Kosoko, also confirmed the news in a social media post and revealed the actor’s burial dates.
Sharing the photo, he wrote: “With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of ALHAJI TAIWO HASSAN, popularly known as OGOGO, who passed away at 3:00 p.m. today, Sunday, 23rd August 2026. At 66 years.
“His remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, today, where special prayers will take place at the Pavilion, Ilaro tomorrow
“Date: Monday, 24th August 2026. Time: 11:00 a.m. Venue: Pavillon, Ilaro, Ogun State
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and gives his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.”
Ogogo was a prominent figure in Yoruba-language Nollywood, with a career spanning more than four decades.

Renowned for his powerful screen presence and portrayal of culturally rooted characters, he made significant contributions as an actor, producer, filmmaker and screenwriter. His death has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
