Watch the official trailer for Venom sequel, Let There Be Carnage

Hang on to your hats! Sony Pictures just dropped the first official trailer for the sequel to 2018’s Venom.

The movie, titled Let There Be Carnage sees Tom Hardy return as Eddie Brock, a journalist who becomes the host of an alien symbiote called Venom.

From the trailer, we see that Eddie and Venom have figured out a way to exist in tandem. We even get a hilarious scene where the symbiote attempts to cook breakfast.

Also, we get a proper look at Carnage, expected to be the main villain in this sequel. Carnage is also an alien symbiote but unlike Venom, its main goal is well.. carnage and destruction.

Emmy Award winner, Woody Harrelson plays Cletus Kasady who becomes the host of Carnage. He was first introduced to audiences in the post-credit scene after the first movie.

Initially planned for October 2020, Let There Be Carnage was delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now hit theatres on September 22, 2021.

The Venom movie released in 2018 was met with a lot of mixed to negative reviews. However, that didn’t seem to affect its performance at the box office.

Moviegoers came out in their numbers for the movie, grossing $856 million on a $100 – $116 million production budget. This led to Sony moving ahead with a sequel following the reaction to the post-credits scene introducing Carnage.

More on Carnage..

Venom was created in 1988 as Spiderman’s most dangerous enemy but became a massive hit with comic book fans.

This popularity meant that the writers couldn’t just kill off the character in some otherwordly battle. Instead, they decided to come up with a villain so dangerous that both enemies would have to join forces to defeat, enter Carnage.

Carnage is basically an insane serial killer with the same abilities as both Venom and Spider-Man.
