Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode popularly known as Toyo Baby has hailed Funke Akindele as “an exceptional woman” following her historic 2 billion Naira box office milestone with her 2025 film ”Behind The Scenes”.
Funke Akindele, who is now regarded as the queen of the Nigerian box office, achieved this feat when her latest movie which was released on December 12, 2025, surpassed 2.1 billion Naira in ticket sales within just one month.

This makes it the first Nollywood film to cross the 2 billion naira mark, further cementing Akindele’s status as Africa’s highest-grossing filmmaker, as well as the top-grossing producer, writer, and director in West African history. The distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, announced the record, noting her dominance with multiple films crossing ₦1 billion.
In response to this achievement, Juliana Olayode took to Instagram to pour encomiums on her senior colleague and mentor. She described Funke as an exceptional woman whose success stems from years of hard work, resilience, and dedication.
The actress herself celebrated the milestone humbly on social media, crediting God and her fans: “Records are milestones, not the mission. From A Tribe Called Judah grossing 1B to Behind The Scenes crossing 2B and still counting, this is God in motion.”
