
Tamunosoye Karibi George, a 26-year-old who is from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026.
Representing Bayelsa State, George won the title during the grand finale held on Saturday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, standing out among 20 contestants from across the country. The ceremony happened on June 6th.
Organised by the Silverbird Group, the pageant was held under the theme “Pride, Power, and Purpose.”
The contestants spent the week leading up to the event participating in leadership training, interviews and community-based activities, which formed part of the judging process.

At the end of the competition, George was announced as the winner, succeeding Joy Mojisola Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025.

Raimi represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, where she reached the Top 20 and ranked among the Top 5 African contestants.

George will now represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026, with the grand finale set for Ho Chi Minh City.
Who Is Tamunosoye Karibi George?
Tamunosoye Karibi George is a 26-year-old Nigerian communications professional, voice-over artist, and beauty queen who was recently crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026.
Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she represented Bayelsa State at the pageant and emerged as the winner among 20 contestants during the grand finale held in Lagos.
Karibi George is no stranger to the pageant world. In December 2024, she won the Miss Africa International title in Accra, Ghana, after representing Nigeria at the competition.

She’s also a trained communications professional and an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (ANIPR).
Beyond pageantry, she is known for her “Beyond Labels” initiative, which promotes education, inclusion, and empowerment for children with special needs.
