Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has faced backlash for calling out Nigerian singer Davido over his silence regarding the mass killings in the Yelewata community in Benue State by suspected herdsmen militia.
As previously reported by eelive.ng, several Nigerian celebrities took to their respective social media platforms to condemn the killings in Benue. However, Davido has not yet addressed the insecurity crisis in the middle belt region.
In a post on his Instagram, Maduagwu criticised the singer for his silence, stating, “Davido, you are more concerned about your August wedding than the Benue situation. This is so unfair. Are you saying that the innocent people who lost their lives in Benue are not your fans or that they never listened to your beautiful music? Promoting your upcoming American wedding without making a single post about what happened in Benue is the height of insensitivity.”
In response to Maduagwu’s post, several of Davido’s fans slammed the actor for berating the singer, with one follower saying, “Go and rest, sir. You look sick.”
Another user remarked: “Hehehe Davido matter Isreally stressing you ! Why not call out your government? Does David own the country?”
