Nollywood actress Judy Austin has shared her thoughts on early marriage and the disadvantages it has.
The second wife of actor Yul Edochie during a live session on TikTok, noted that it was totally wrong to let a girl who is below 20 get married when adults who are married for quite a while have issues. She questioned, “If a girl is in her early twenties or let me say under 18 or under 20, why are we allowing them to get married?”
Sharing her opinion on the right time for a lady to get married, she said 25 is the appropriate age and for a man he should be at least 30.

Moving forward, the actress said marriage is one of the hardest institution hence can not be handled by a girl who can barely take care of herself. Giving her own statistics, she said eighty percent of early marriage are either broken or both partners are living as flat mates.

“Even people that are 30 before they got married, they still get it wrong because it is so difficult… if people that are much older than you still get it wrong why rush into it,” Austin said.
Some have perceived her advice to be comments from the on going drama happening from young actress Regina Daniels’ marital crisis, however some have advised to listen to the message and leave the messenger as people were criticizing Austin for sharing her thoughts.
