Reality TV star Phyna has stirred controversy on social media following her reaction to President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Yelwata community in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly killed in an attack by suspected herdsmen.
During his visit, President Tinubu was seen meeting with victims of the attack in a hospital. However, Phyna took to X (formerly Twitter) to question the authenticity of the visit and the identities of the alleged victims.
The former BBNaija winner expressed scepticism, claiming that all the victims of the Yelwata attack were killed and burnt, leaving no survivors. She also criticised the decision to lay a red carpet at the hospital during the President’s visit, describing it as unnecessary and insensitive.
“There were no victims in Yelwata, they were all killed and burnt alive. Who are those in the hospital that the President went to visit, standing on a red rug? Why are you doing a Photoshop to make us angrier? Nigeria has failed us,” she wrote.

Phyna’s post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some supported her boldness and questioned the government’s narrative, others criticized her for spreading misinformation and showing disrespect to the presidency.
