Why I Decided To Become a Director- Yvonne Jegede
Yvonne Jegede, Nollywood actress is currently working on her first movies as a director.
Titled Separation and Wife of The Year, the movies features Jegede, Sandra Eze, Janice Joseph, Amira Aregbe and Sir Dee, a former BBNaija housemate.
The 36-year-old movie star took to her Instagram page to announce the project on Friday. She added that the movies will be airing on her YouTube channel.
“Directing and acting in my own web series. Please subscribe to my YouTube (IAMYVONNEJEGEDE) to watch my web series. And be the first to see my directorial debut. Wanna hear your comments. #TheSeparation and #WifeOfTheYear are coming soon,” she wrote.
Speaking on why she decided to venture into directing, Yvonne Jegede explained that she has a lot to offer.
“As an actor, your input into the final output of a movie is pretty little because the audience only gets to see what the director sees. This is the reason why I ventured into directing because I have a lot more to offer into the final output of a movie,” she said.
“Directing movies is an expression of my art which I’ve always wanted to venture into but I just didn’t have the courage and time to but after the lockdown ease I took it upon myself to direct some short films before my first feature film and I really can’t wait for y’all to see what my team and I put together for you guys. What really matters at this time is staying safe and surviving the pandemic ”
While this is Jegede‘s debut as a film director, she produced her first movie 3 is Company in 2015, where she starred as the lead character.
