American internet personality and livestreamer iShowSpeed has responded to mounting criticism over his decision not to collaborate with local content creators during his ongoing Africa tour in Nigeria, insisting that the purpose of the trip is cultural exploration rather than influencer partnerships.

In a statement circulating online, Speed explained that the tour was carefully designed to highlight the everyday realities and vibrant traditions of African communities.

According to him, the focus is on showcasing ordinary people who rarely receive international attention, as well as talented street performers and neighbourhoods that reflect the true spirit of each country he visits.

He further clarified that every stop on the tour is meticulously planned by his team and operates under strict time constraints.

Speed noted that his crew schedules specific locations in advance, leaving little room for spontaneous additions, even when requests come from popular online personalities. He stressed that the structure of the itinerary is essential to ensuring that the tour runs smoothly across multiple destinations.

Addressing the complaints directly, Speed remarked that many of the creators expressing frustration already have established platforms and audiences of their own. He said the tour was instead designed to offer exposure to individuals and communities who would otherwise remain unseen by global viewers.

The streamer also made it clear that he would not abandon cultural experiences arranged by locals simply to accommodate influencers. He concluded by emphasising that his primary objective is to present African culture to the world, not to centre the tour around collaborations with fellow content creators, a stance that has continued to fuel debate across social media platforms.
