Popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has revealed that he recently had to let go of a cameraman he hired for a high-paying role.

Recall that, Peller had announced on his Instagram page that he was hiring a cameraman, and offering a monthly salary of ₦500,000.

He stated that 20 applicants would be interviewed, but only two would be selected. Interestingly, he also mentioned that applicants were expected to have a master’s degree.

The TikTok star live-streamed the interview and selection process, during which he questioned the candidates about their qualifications, joking at times that some of them were “overqualified.”

Peller eventually hired one of the applicants, though the individual’s identity was not made public.

However, in a recent video shared on Instagram, Peller told comedian Efe Carter that he had to fire the new hire shortly after employment due to unexpected behavior.

According to Peller, the new hire appeared at work on his first day with his bags, saying he had no place to sleep.

In his words: “I gave him ₦500,000 as an upfront payment. Then he showed up at my house with his bags, saying he didn’t have a place to sleep. He asked if I could accommodate him. But I don’t even own the place I’m staying at, so I couldn’t help. If it were my place, maybe I would’ve considered it. But the guy wasn’t smart about it.”

Peller admitted he didn’t know the man was homeless at the time of hiring.

Speaking on why he initially insisted on hiring someone with a master’s degree, Peller said: “There are places I go like the U.S.and I need someone to travel with me. There are things I don’t know, and having a graduate with me means they can assist in areas where I lack knowledge.”

He also confirmed that he had already hired another applicant and paid them ₦500,000 in advance before their official resumption.
