Why I Married Quietly -Lizzy Anjorin
Nollywood actress and producer, Lizzy Anjorin has revealed that she married her heartthrob, Alhaji Lawal, quietly due to the raging COVID-19.
In an interview with Punch, Anjorin said the realities of the deadly infectious disease made her got married in a private ceremony.
“We had a quiet wedding because of COVID-19. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, would have been present if not for the coronavirus pandemic. Alaafin has blessed me and my hubby. Even if there was no COVID-19, my wedding would have been in Nigeria,” she was quoted as saying.
The movie star, who said she and her husband dated and courted for 14 years, revealed that it took them long to get married because she wanted to be rich before saying ‘yes’ to someone’s marriage proposal.
“It took us this long because I had told my late mother that I wanted to make some money first because I didn’t have what it took to become a wife. My husband respected my opinion and told me that he would always be there for me. Now I’m his legal wife,” she explained.
