Nigerian comedian and content creator Kevin Chinedu, popularly known as Kevinblak, has revealed that he turned down what he described as a “life-changing” offer to become a Youth Ambassador for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The “Governor Amuneke” creator shared on Instagram that he was approached by an admirer of his work, who offered him the role alongside top Nigerian music stars like MI and 2Baba.

However, he said he declined after being informed that the position would restrict his ability to openly criticise the commission.

According to him, the decision was difficult, but he chose to prioritise his independence.

His revelation comes amid earlier claims that he was offered money in dollars to tone down his satirical content targeting government and public officials.

Speaking in a recent interview, Chinedu said political figures approached him with promises of financial rewards and influence.

“They said they were going to change my life, that I’m earning crumbs… give me dollars. They mentioned that my colleagues are in the game,” he said.

He noted that the offer came during a challenging period, shortly after his wife underwent a Caesarean section, leaving him with significant financial responsibilities.

Despite the pressure, he refused to disclose the political party involved, referring to it only as “Amuneke’s party,” while warning against speculation.

“Don’t mention names, trust me,” he added.
