Why Women Above 30 Should Never Consider Abortion -Uche Ogbodo

Nollywood film producer, Uche Ogbodo has advised women who have attained the age of 30 and above to desist from abortion, especially unmarried ones.

According to her, while chances of survival after abortion might be most times guaranteed, the women who partake in it might never conceive again.

Speaking with her fans during an Instagram live session, Ogbodo who exemplified her point using herself as a case study, lamented the stigmatisation of women who have babies out of wedlock in the society.

She said, “Many girls between 30 to 40 are dying to be married, to have a family, doing all sort of things so they can have a baby…some of them wait till 45 yet no husband. This is because the society will criticise them for having a baby out of wedlock.”

“You’re aborting a baby at 35 and 40 because of what people would say, are you okay?” the renowned filmmaker queried. “When you get to 40 and you’re pregnant without a husband, please don’t abort it. If you do who will take care of you when you are old?”

The actress who divorced her husband Ato Ubby, ex-Nigerian footballer, in 2013, barely 10 months after they got married, further advised women to ditch the mentality that they must get married at any cost.

“It’s so painful when I see a lot of girls my age, they don’t look beautiful anymore and they were so pretty. I saw one yesterday I had to go back to the page to refresh…she was looking haggard, old and ugly.

“Please, stop killing your children, especially when you’re of age. Have your kids. If marriage comes, marry oh, if marriage no come, raise your children now. It’s not everyone that must get married.

“I’m 34. I already have a kid. This is going to be my second child. I have a boyfriend who loves me, I’m happy and I’m having my baby,” she added.
