Imohiosen Patrick, the award-winning Nigerian producer popularly known as DJ Neptune, has criticised Tufab, an aide to Nigerian singer Wizkid, for mocking singer Akinmayokun Awodumila better known as May D after a video of him performing on the streets of Lagos surfaced online.
As earlier reported by eelive.ng, the “Ile Ijo” crooner was seen entertaining a small group of people seated on plastic chairs, with others standing around. The scene surprised many online users, considering May D’s past fame and association with Afrobeats stars Peter and Paul Okoye, formerly known as the group P-Square.

Reacting to the video, Tufab mocked the singer, saying: “For May D mind he dey perform for 02 arena. Sold out!”
In response, DJ Neptune slammed Tufab for ridiculing someone who is using his talent to make an honest living. He wrote: “Your fellow man is hustling legally for his daily bread with his God-given talent, and this is what you have to say? Everything shouldn’t be for cruise. E red today no mean say e no go green tomorrow. SMH.”
May D, 40, came the limelight after signing to Square Records in 2011. He featured on the remix of ‘Chop My Money’ alongside P-Square and Akon but later left the label in 2012.
In an interview earlier this year, he claimed that his fallout with P-Square began after he disclosed Akon’s interest in signing him.
The singer also said he was once “bigger than Wizkid and Davido” at the height of his career but admitted mistakes stalled his growth.
