Through a partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Sickle Cell Management Initiative, “5 Star Care” will provide free health insurance to 1,000 people in Lagos affected by sickle cell disease. This initiative builds on Adekunle Gold’s ongoing efforts to uplift sickle cell warriors, including a previous medical outreach that supported over 300 individuals and a scholarship program for those living with the disease to study music business.

Adekunle Gold has been open about his struggles with sickle cell anemia, sharing his experiences with debilitating pain crises and feelings of isolation due to widespread misconceptions about the condition.

The singer’s commitment to creating lasting change and providing meaningful support to those navigating life with sickle cell is evident in his statement, “5 Star Care isn’t just an initiative, it’s a promise, a promise to ensure that sickle cell warriors are seen, heard, and cared for.”
