Nigerian social media personality Yhemolee has fiercely responded to food critic Opeyemi Famakin over his critical review of his wife’s perfume brand.
The drama began when Famakin, known for his unfiltered takes on food, ventured into fragrance critique.
He purchased a ₦160,000 perfume from Thayour B (Tayo), Yhemolee’s wife, and shared an honest assessment on social media.
In his review, Famakin praised aspects of the scent, the packaging but slammed the prints on the bottle, noting that the text was peeling. He advised, “Sack the people that imprinted it for you. Tell them they’re spoiling your business,” and rated the product 5/10 overall, though he said without the sticker issue, it could have scored 7.5/10.

The comments did not sit well with Yhemolee, who fired back aggressively in a widely shared response. Calling Famakin a “Fat F**l,” Yhemolee accused him of being bitter because his wife’s marketing team had approached Famakin for a paid video review during the brand’s launch, but Famakin allegedly charged ₦6 million.

Yhemolee emphasised the perfume’s success, stating it was the brand’s bestseller and had sold out twice, with over 1,000 bottles moved through organic demand and customer reviews rather than paid endorsements. He questioned Famakin’s motives, asking why he would demean the product if he truly “loved” Yhemolee.

The exchange quickly went viral on platforms like Instagram and X, with fans divided, some praising Yhemolee for defending his wife’s business hustle, while others viewed Famakin’s feedback as a necessary one to help the brand make corrections with their printing team.
