Yomi Fabiyi Debunks Baba Suwe Death Rumour

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has dismissed rumours making the rounds that veteran Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe is dead.

The internet was awash on Friday morning with news that the veteran movie star had breathed his last.

In a video clip posted on his Twitter page, Fabiyi stated that the news is being peddled by perpetrators of falsehood.

He called on the public to disregard rumours of Suwe‘s death, adding that he is “alive, hale and hearty.” He went on to reveal that he has just spoken to the veteran actor.

'He's hale and hearty' -- Yomi Fabiyi debunks Baba Suwe death rumour

“I want to use this medium to dispel the rumour circulating. It is pretty unfortunate that I have to still come out and do this again. I don’t really understand what perpetrators of such falsehood on social media gain by doing that,” he said.

“It is not right, knowing fully well the status of the person in question. Please desist from doing such. Baba Suwe is alive, hale and hearty. Please stop doing this nonsense. I just spoke with him less than two minutes ago and he is doing fine. He asked me to pray for you and to stop such act.”

The rebuttal is coming as the second since rumours of Suwe‘s death started to gain momentum on the internet.

Nigerian comic actor, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin had debunked the same rumour last year after unverified sources claimed that Suwe had died following his subsequent evacuation out of the country for intensive medical attention.
