Popular Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has come under heavy criticism after revealing that she introduced her daughter to alcohol and clubbing at the age of 17.
As earlier reported by eelive.ng, the actress made the statement during an interview where she claimed she wanted her child to be free with her and experience nightlife in her company.
However, many Nigerians on social media did not welcome the disclosure, describing it as reckless parenting.

One user wrote: “Introducing a 17-year-old to alcohol and nightlife is reckless parenting, not cruise. At that age, guidance and discipline should come first, not clubbing.”
Another critic added: “You took her there doesn’t change the fact that it’s wrong.”
Some commentators linked her action to single motherhood, with one post reading: “Nah only single mother fit run this kind thing. What a good parenting 👍.”
Others went as far as mocking her statement: “By the way, you gave her her first alcohol when she was still in your belly, stop lying.”
While majority condemned her, a few defended the actress, saying her daughter would still find her way to clubs if she was restricted. “Low-key this thing normal, at least her daughter will be free to talk to her about anything. If she no carry her go club, she’ll still go by herself and might even do worse things,” one person argued.
Another disappointed fan said he lost respect for the actress because of her recent lifestyle. “I used to like Laide. She was one of my childhood celebrity crushes. But she no too get sense. The way this Aunty dey move lately is so disgusting.
