Yul Edochie Recounts How His Father Once Beat Him Mercilessly
Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has recounted how his father, Pete Edochie mercilessly dealt with him; after he disclosed his plans to drop out of school.
Edochie shared his experience on the heels of a viral video on social media where a father scolded his son over his poor academic performance; despite the huge amount of money he invested in his education. Yul said his father gave him the beating of his life when he told him he was no longer interested in going to school and want to run a business.
According to the actor, when he was in secondary school, he had plans to drop out to become a trader; which led to the beating he will ever be thankful for.
“In JS2, I told my father I didn’t want to go to school anymore, he should open electrical shop for me. He said ok. He invited me to his room, locked the door & pulled out his belt”. Edochie continued, “He gave me a beating that reset my brain to factory setting. Look at me today. Thank you Dad!” he tweeted.
Since the video of the father scolding his son started going viral, a lot of people have taken to social media; recounting their abusive “disciplinary” experiences with their parents while growing up.
