Actress Enado Odigie Shares Sentiment on Movie Sequels

Nollywood actress, Enado Odigie has shared her sentiment on the idea of producing movie sequels.

In a chat with eelive.ng at the premiere of Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, Odigie said there’s nothing like Nollywood filmmakers are getting fond of making movie sequels as some people are claiming.

According to her, movies that were so interesting back in the days can be remake to the delights of movie enthusiasts.

Her words: “I don’t think they (Nollywood filmmakers) now prefer to remake old movies. I think that for all of us we get nostalgic and those movies were so fantastic.

“Then, with limited resources, and limited equipment, the filmmakers were able to produce classic movies. Now, we have so much more now in terms of resources, the equipment we can use, the location, funding and all of that.

“So we want to see how those movies will look like now. I am a fan of good stories, whether it’s remake or a fresh story, just tell it good , tell it in a way that I will love it and we are good.”

Explaining the features that can define if a movie is classic or not, Odigie said for her “the storyline, acting, cinematography, and the directing of the movie, are important features that she can’t snub.”

She continued: “The way the story flows to come to whatever conclusion that it comes to. Production value, where it is necessary. I also like the story of a movie to look like what it is telling us -you can’t just tell us this person is rich, show us what makes him rich or if need be, how he acquires his wealth, I like the things that add up. Although, the list goes on; those are a few of the things I look out for to define a movie.”
