Nollywood actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels has voluntarily undergone a drug test to address persistent rumors of drug addiction, which surfaced during her highly publicised marital crisis with estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In an emotional statement posted on her Instagram page, accompanied by a video, Daniels described the past few months as an intensely challenging period and a major turning point in her life.
She revealed that the ordeal had shaken her to her core, with everything she once knew seemingly “drowning” before her eyes. Daniels explained her decision to take the test as a demonstration of her commitment to integrity, accountability, and peace of mind.
She emphasised that she owed it to those who have stood by her, including her supporters and those who look up to her.

Addressing the widespread claims labeling her a “drug addict,” Daniels reflected on the accusations with introspection.
“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ And honestly? I paused, then I checked again. I looked at myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict,” she wrote.
The drug test comes amid a prolonged and bitter public feud with Senator Nwoko, which escalated in late 2025. Nwoko had previously alleged that Daniels was battling drug and alcohol abuse, claiming it as the root cause of their marital issues and insisting she undergo rehabilitation. Court proceedings reportedly required her to complete rehabilitation and undergo welfare assessments before regaining access to their two young sons, Munir and Khalifa.
In her recent video, Daniels reportedly showed what appeared to be test results, with a hospital representative assuring her of clear findings. She noted that test not only means to clear her name, but a protective measure for her children’s future perception of her.
The actress has vowed to take legal action against those spreading the allegations, signaling her determination to reclaim her reputation.
