While we are yet to recover from the news of their union last month, the latest couple in the music industry, Adekunle Gold and Simi wowed us with a stunning visual for their new song Promise. The video shares highlights of their wedding that saw a limited number of invited guests in attendance.

Ebbing tides, luxury resorts and laid back ambiance paints the visuals of Promise. The video’s opening portions is heralded by luring guitar riffs, while different visual frames launched into a series of loved up moments of Simi and Gold together. The song starts off with Gold leading the way with soft vocals that professed love while reaffirming his stance in the relationship.

The song’s arrangement is a bit technical with Simi joining in and maintaining established mellow tempo. In their duo effort, the need to outshine one another is minimal. Their efforts are evenly distributed, and this in many ways pays off with an appeal of harmony it projects; but more importantly, the support each spouse shows the other without necessarily hinting superiority. This is further portrayed with the pair taking turns riding the four-wheel drive vehicle on the beach.

“Earlier in 2018, I asked my girlfriend of five years to be my wife. Knowing all of my imperfections and shortcoming, she said yes! This January, before God and our family, we vowed to do this thing called life together. To be honest, it is easy to be lost in the limelight; so we definitely have a slightly obsessive desire for a private life that belongs to us.” Gold said in a private mail to his fans.

Dating for five years and keeping it under the radar is probably more tasking than hoarding details of a low-key wedding for the Golds. While most are still left in shock of their union, and others in disbelief, Promise addresses these issues with a sense of class and the consciousness of separating public and private life.
