Nollywood sensation, Alex Ekubo is now engaged to US-based model and entrepreneur, Fancy Acholonu. The actor took to Instagram earlier today to announce his engagement. He shared a photo of him and his new fiancée on Instagram with the caption, “I asked the love of my life @fancyacholonu to marry me… ❤️💍”. The post was met with congratulations from both fans and his celebrity colleagues.
The 35-year-old former Mr. Nigeria runner-up had managed to keep his love life private and away from the public eye. Although they have been linked together many times in the past, the two had managed to keep their romance away from social media. Speculations that the two were an item began flying around after they both shared Instagram stories.
The images suggested that they were both in Paris, France celebrating her birthday as back as 2017. Acholonu who also announced the engagement on her page shared a similar photo on her Instagram page. She writes, “…& I said YES to the Love of my life @alexxekubo 💍❤️ #Falexx”.
Narrating how the event happened, Fancy posts a video on her Instagram that she captions, “I thought I was going for a photoshoot with my sister not knowing it was a set up by my mister to make me his Mrs…

Who is Fancy Acholonu?
American-born, entrepreneur, model, and actress Chigozie Fancy Acholonu finds her roots back to Imo state, Nigeria where her family is from. She graduated from Downey high school, California at age 16. Acholonu also holds a BSc. in Business Administration and Event Management from Los Angeles City College in California, USA.

According to her Instagram page, Ekubo’s wife-to-be now runs two businesses. She is currently the CEO of a Zodiac sign jewelry and accessories store called, Zodiacaa. Coupled with this, she runs The Fancy Kidz, an agency where she teaches acting and modelling to children from ages 6 to 14. Also, the Hollywood based model is signed to the Daniel Hoff Agency in Los Angeles and Hines and the Hunt Management.

The Bling Lagos star debuted his career with a minor role in Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s Sinners in the House back in 2005. He has since stared in over 20 movies including popular television series, Tinsel. Having some modelling background himself, he competed in the Mr. Nigeria pageant in 2010 where he was first runner up.
Consequently, he won the Best of Nollywood award twice in 2012 and 2013 for his roles in In the Cupboard and Weekend Getaway respectively.
