The family of Nollywood star Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke has finally broken its silence following reports of his death that circulated on social media.
In a statement shared on Wednesday via the late actor’s verified Instagram page, the family confirmed that Alexx Ekubo died from complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
According to the statement, the actor passed away at Evercare Hospital after what the family described as a “brief but courageous battle” with the disease.
The family noted that throughout his illness, the actor showed “remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and enduring hope,” believing he would one day share his testimony with the world.
They also appealed to the public for privacy and prayers as they mourn the painful loss.
The family further disclosed that details regarding funeral arrangements would be announced in due course, while expressing appreciation to fans and well-wishers for their love, prayers, and support during the difficult period.

“After a brief but courageous battle, Alexx passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
