Nigerian rapper Erigga has fired back at Afrobeats superstar Davido following their heated social media exchange over family wealth and the different paths artistes take to achieve success.
The drama began when Erigga shared a post celebrating musicians who did not come from wealthy backgrounds and had to work hard for every dollar they earned. Although the rapper did not mention Davido or any other artiste by name, the post quickly sparked conversations online.

Davido later reacted to Erigga’s post, defending artistes from privileged backgrounds who also worked hard to reach the top. The singer argued that coming from family money should not erase the effort behind a successful career.

Erigga, however, was not ready to back down. In a series of posts on X, he questioned why his celebration of musicians who succeeded without family wealth appeared to trigger Davido.

“Big man pikin dey cry say poor men children de hail dem self???” Erigga wrote, before sarcastically telling Davido to motivate himself and calling him the “Ambassador of RICH KIDS.”
The rapper also accused Davido of trying to bully and oppress him, giving the singer the nickname “Slovido.”
