Nigerian recording artiste, Asake whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, has come under heavy criticism over the price rate of his Lagos homecoming concert.
This comes after organisers of the event, set the ticket price at N300,000, leaving fans accusing them of “pricing out true supporters.”
Social media quickly erupted with frustration. A fan Blondehoe wrote: “Asake ticket prices are ridiculous. Not even Chris Brown, Summer Walker and Travis Scott were this expensive. I might need a Nigerian bf to buy me a ticket soon.”

Yemmmmie added: “So Nigerians are paying $200 just to stand and watch Asake, while people abroad get seats for under $100? Make it make sense. It’s giving ‘exploit your own.’”

Other fans shared similar concerns. Ayzo lamented: “I really wanted to go for Asake’s show but 300k is too ridiculous.”
Giving the reason for the steep price, promoters argue that the current rate reflects production and service costs, with VIP tickets offering additional perks.

Still, displeased fans insist ordinary fans are being left out. Some fan groups have even threatened a boycott unless more affordable options are introduced.
This isn’t the first time Asake’s ticket pricing has caused uproar. Previous Lagos shows saw VIP tickets at N70,000, with premium tables reaching N10 million. Fans argue rising prices disregard those who supported Asake from his early days.
