Ayo Makun’s ‘Merry Men 2’ to Premiere on Netflix

Ayo Makun‘s Merry Men 2 is set to premiere on Netflix, a streaming platform owned by an American media-services provider, following the latter’s acquisition of rights to the movie.

The film, which premiered in cinemas in December and grossed over N100 million in its opening week; stars Ramsey Nouah, Ayo Makun, Falz, Jim Iyke and Nancy Isime.

The plot revolves around four of the richest bachelors in Abuja, enjoying a life of fast cars, palatial homes and female attention while concealing their true activities.

Other actors on the cast list include, Williams Uchemba, Ufuoma McDermott, Ireti Doyle, Regina Daniels, Linda Osifo, and Osas Ighodaro.

Moses Inwang, the movie’s director, took to her  Instagram pages to break the good news on Tuesday.

“Something big is coming to Netflix! Are you ready?,” she wrote.

According to Filmone, the action-comedy thriller will begin streaming on Netflix on a soon to be announced date.

In January, Ufuoma McDermott who sponsored 100 Nigerians to see the hit movie revealed that ‘Merry Men 2’  is the most challenging project in her 16-year career.

“It’s the most challenging in my career because I had to be physical and be as fit as I can. Merry Men 2 took me to a place that no other film has taken me to and I am grateful for that,” she said.

“The movie took me out of my usual happy, laughing to the character to a bit more serious one; where I had to frown my face all the time and all that.

“At the premiere of merry 2, I had already had two offers on action films. I think working on this project made me understand the importance of having the right crew members.”
