B’Day: How to Celebrate Beyonce’s Birthday as a BeyHive Member 🐝🐝

September 4 is a very important day for the Beyhive and everyone knows why. It’s B’Day and our favourite Virgo queen just turned 39! Beyonce is undoubtedly one of the most influential pop culture figures of our generation. If you are a fan or stan of Beyonce (who isn’t?), here are a couple of ways you can celebrate with Queen Bey!

1. Wear something sparkly
B'Day

In case you didn’t know, Beyonce has an insect named after her. The Australian horsefly is named after Beyonce because it has a sparkly golden little booty! So, for Bey Day, be like the horsefly and put something shiny over your booty! Anything gold, glittery, bedazzled or sequined will do. Just make sure to glow!

2. Do some charity work
B'Day

Beyonce is popular not only for speaking on issues concerning the Black community; but also for backing up that talk with charitable works. From the BeyGOOD foundation funding to Black-owned businesses affected by COVID-19 to donating the proceeds of hit songs to coronavirus relief in Texas; Bey is relentless in giving back to the community.

So for B’Day, buy someone lunch, credit someone’s account, sign a petition; any little thing you can do today and everyday to make the world a little better.

3. Watch Homecoming

In April 2019, Beyonce released a Netflix documentary of her journey to Beychella and a cumulation of her performances. This Homecoming documentary shows you how much hard work, effort, discipline and work ethic goes into being Beyonce.

You can see her push herself and her team to produce the best quality performance worthy of an artist of her calibre. It is truly awe-inspiring, humbling and entertaining.

4. Make it bounce when you walk

In addition to adding the word ‘bootylicious’ to the English dictionary, Beyonce continually references her fat ass twisting while she walks in her 2016 song Don’t Hurt Yourself.

You can embody the Queen by twisting your ass (fat or skinny) at all your haters. Lift your head up, get your confidence up, and whine your waist as you walk in step to Formation.

5. Stream B’Day
B'Day

On this day in 2006, Beyonce dropped an album to celebrate her 25th birthday. That album was B’Day. It consists of generation-defining hit tracks like Irreplaceable, Deja Vu, and Ring the Alarm.

Give it another listen and be intrigued at how far Beyonce has come in her career. Or better yet, stream her entire discography!

6. Gift a Black woman

From the beginning of her career, Beyonce’s music has always explored life through the eyes of the Black woman. The world constantly bullies Black women as a whole, so today and everyday, do something nice for a Black woman.

Let her go ahead in the queue, buy her something nice, tell her she’s beautiful; because Brown Skin Girls are worth every bit of love you have to offer.

7. Dance

Beyonce has cemented her place at the top with classy presentation and intricately-planned performances. But her first and most primal talent is singing. Beyonce has been singing her heart out since she was a child. For Bey Day, you should do so too. Plug in your headphones, sing and dance your heart out to your favourite Beyonce songs. Have a personal concert in your living room!
