Biodun Stephen Shares ‘Secret’ to Drastic Weight Loss

Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen shared her weight-loss journey, saying she lost 22kg after months of hard work and a complete lifestyle change.

In a recent Instagram post, she explained that her struggle with weight started years ago, but things changed when she began to notice health problems.

“I stepped into the 3-digit weight category in 2010. I paid no mind until small health challenges began to creep in,” she wrote.

She said that in January 2025, she decided to make a change after realising her weight gain was caused by stress. This made her see the need for a full lifestyle change.

“I realized the weight gain was actually induced by stress. I needed a complete lifestyle change. 6 hours sleep time, understanding my metabolism, a long list of dos and dont,” she wrote.

Biodun said that even though she worked hard, progress was slow. By April 2025, she had lost just 4kg.

She said she felt discouraged and decided to get professional help. By the end of September, she had lost 14kg, but she was still 12kg from her goal.

She said she became more disciplined, focusing on regular walking, sleeping just six hours, and taking her vitamins consistently.

According to her, after 16 months of consistency, she stepped on the scale and saw 98kg — a total of 22kg lost.

She added that while this is a win for her, the bigger win is ensuring she stays in her two-digit era until the end of the year.

“By April of 2025 ,I only successfully lost 4kg. I was so disheartened. Then I decided to get help and for 3 month, I quickly shed another 10kg,” she wrote.

“That was all the boost I needed, something to encourage me on this journey. By September, I had successfully lost a total of 14kg. But i was still 12kg away from my goal.

“Even if it was 2 kilo beneath 100kg, I would take it. From September, I took my walking seriously, gave my metabolism 14-16 hours to process my intake, slept 6 hours, took my vitamins religiously and 2 weeks ago after 16 months, I stepped on the scale and I saw 98kg. 22kg lost.

“This is a win for me. The bigger win is to ensure i stay in my 2 digits era till end of year, na den I go kee cow.”
