Bobby Shmurda Eligible for Early Prison Release

After serving more than six years in jail for a seven year sentence, U.S rapper, Bobby Shmurda, is now eligible for early prison release, police officials announced.

The 26-year-old rapper is serving time at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora in upstate New York for conspiracy to murder, weapons possession and reckless endangerment.

In 2014, he was arrested outside a recording studio in Midtown New York; and was found with two guns and crack cocaine.

He then pleaded guilty to having a connection with members of the GS9 gang of East Flatbush.

He was tentatively scheduled for release on December 11, 2021 but now eligible for release on February 23. If he gets out in Feb. he will serve the rest of his sentence on parole.

Born Ackquille Pollard, Shmurda was up for parole in September; but was denied as a result of disciplinary actions for his behavior while in prison.

The rapper shot to limelight after his song Hot Nigga peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014.

He released his debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote on November 10, 2014 under Epic record label.

Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel are the founders and considered the pioneers of Brooklyn drill music.
