Why 2021 Can End Up Like 2020 -Seun Kuti

Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti has revealed that 2021 can end up like last year (2020) if capitalism and bad leadership persist.

During an Instagram live session with his fans, the music star said contrary to popular belief, 2020 didn’t do bad to anyone.

“2020 didn’t do any bad to anyone, what hurt us was capitalism and bad policies of our government to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. That was what hurt everyone around the world, and if we continue like that, 2021 will also be the same,” he said.

Speaking of his new year resolution, Kuti revealed that he doesn’t have any, unlike everyone.

His words: “What I have is life resolution, life ambition, and life mission, and every day, I try to get better at it. The thing is people want to improve in their way of life based on their attitudes, some people think they are bad, and in the new year, they resolved to become a good person, while the good ones think they are too good, yet not appreciated, hence, they resolved to do things differently.

“For me, I’m not in that spectrum. All of us in this world, have energies that are peculiar to us… All our energies are necessary but how we channel them matters.

“I know I have a lot of evil inside of me, the same way I have a lot of good. So my life ambition is channeling the evil inside of me to the evil inside this world, and the good inside of me, I channel it to the good of this world. I try to match my energies to where they fit in this world. I’ve never thought about making efforts to be either good or bad, it’s a life mission for me, an everyday thing and not every year thing…”
