Brad Pitt accuses Angelina Jolie of damaging wine business

American actor, Brad Pitt has accused his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie of intentionally damaging the wine business they co-owned by selling her half to a “stranger.”

Pitt and Jolie had purchased a controlling stake in the South of France vineyard and home Château Miraval, in 2008.

In 2014, the couple got married at the vineyard and continued to spend several family holidays throughout their relationship there.

Pitt recently filed a case against Jolie over the sale of Miraval. He claims that she had intentionally “sought to inflict harm on” him by selling her interests in the wine company.

Pitt further stated that they had agreed to never sell their respective interests in the family business without consent.

He has also accused Jolie of contributing “nothing to Miraval’s success”. He notes that Jolie had planned to sell her interest in October to Tenute del Mondo. It is “bent on taking control of Miraval” and is “indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group”. The filing read in part,

“Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.”

Pitt is seeking damages in an amount to be determined at trial. As well as the declaration of Jolie’s apparent sale as “null and void.”
