Sending shockwaves through the music industry, pop icon Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalogue to independent music publisher Primary Wave.
The deal, reportedly signed on December 30, 2025, was first revealed through legal documents obtained by TMZ on February 10, 2026, with confirmation from outlets including BBC and The New York Times.

The transaction is described as a “landmark deal,” with sources estimating its value at around $200 million though neither Spears nor Primary Wave has officially confirmed the figure.
Spears’ catalogue encompasses her nine studio albums, featuring timeless hits from late ’90s and early 2000s: “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Gimme More,” “Circus,” “Womanizer,” “(You Drive Me) Crazy.”

Primary Wave, a New York-based company known for acquiring catalogs from legends like Bob Marley, Stevie Nicks, and Whitney Houston, now controls future revenue from streaming, sales, licensing, and synchronisation deals for Spears’ share of the catalogue. Spears retains the ability to perform her songs live.
The sale comes over a decade after her last album, Glory (2016), and follows the end of her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, which had long restricted her financial control. Sources indicate Spears is pleased with the agreement and has been enjoying time with her sons since finalizing it.
