Burna Boy Explains Meaning of His Stage Name

Burna Boy is possibly having the best year of his career! While Apple Music is getting ready to premiere a documentary in their “Up Next!” campaign featuring the BET Awards winner, he was in an interview with Julia Adenuga on her show airing on UK radio station, Beats 1 Radio, where he talks about everything his fans don’t know about him and his gift to them – his forthcoming “African Giant” Album.

He also explained his stage name, he said: “When I say ‘Oluwa Burna’, the ‘Oluwa’ is from my actual name, Ebunoluwa. I didn’t know I had a fanbase, I just thought people liked to come to my shows and watch me perform and I had no idea what I was growing. My original plan was making the kind of music that I like, that I can listen to, before anything else.”
