Latin-American rapper, Cardi B has expressed her disappointment in rapper Wiz Khalifa, over a shady tweet.

It all started when Wiz Khalifa, yesterday (Tuesday, October 24, 2020), took some time to answer questions about Grammy Awards following the announcement of its 2021 nominees.

Sharing his sentiment on the nominations, Wiz Khalifa noted that just other artistes, the award has also left him feeling snubbed.

The Long Way To Go singer said he had similarly felt unrecorgnised by the Recording Academy, but remains optimistic that he’ll one day be holding a trophy.

“As a Grammy nominated artist I know how it feels. N***as always think its unfair until they get their turn,” he wrote.”Just keep workin and that time’ll come through … I felt like I got throughly robbed for ‘See You Again.’ Haven’t been bacc since, but when tha time comes ima have a joint rolled and dope ass speech ready. And it’s Taylor Gang Or Die.”

One fan then went on to challenge the Grammys legitimacy, claiming the Recording Academy clearly doesn’t understand music, as he pointed to the fact that Cardi B is a Grammy winner, while her counterpart Nicki Minaj is not.

Quoting the tweet, Wiz Khalifa responded: “Most self made artists have this problem.”

Catching the wind of Wiz Khalifa’s response, Cardi B called out the former, as he said he’s an hypocrite.

As she shared a screenshot of a message Wiz Khalifa sent to her in 2016, she wrote: “This was N****s in my dms in 2016!They really support you when you grinding at the bottom then it’s a different story when you make it !”

“I don’t understand why ns entertain tweets that pit successful women against each other? Ya not tired of that? Specially when ya was rooting hard when a b was at the bottom,” she added.

Cardi B’s feud with Nicki Minaj has for a while been the subject of much speculation in the global music industry, culminating when she reportedly threw a stiletto heel at the Barbie Dreams rapper during a New York Fashion Week party in 2018.

Cardi B however appeared to have put the past behind them, as she recently sang Nicki Minaj’s praises some months ago during an interview with Apple Music.

Although she didn’t mention her name, she said: “When I was six, seven, eight, there were a lot different female rappers. And then there was a time that there were no female rappers at all. I have to keep replaying songs from the early 2000s.

“I have to keep replaying it, replaying it, replaying it because for a while there wasn’t no female rapper. And then there was one female rapper that dominated for a very long time. You know what I’m saying? And she did pretty good. She’s been still dominating.”

“I feel like people be wanting to put female artists against each other. Every single time I feel like there’s a female artist that’s coming up, coming up, coming up and it’s getting they mainstream moment…

“I always see like little slick comments like, “Oh, they taking over your spot. They taking over this. They taking over that.” And it just makes me feel like, damn, why it had to be like that? Because I actually like shorty music a lot. Why does it even have to be like that?” the WAP lyricist mused.
