Celebrate People when they are alive- Actor Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has taken to his social media to condemn societal attitude of celebrating people after their death.

Edochie who survived a car accident months ago tweeted that no one came to celebrate him after the accident. According to him, people shouldn’t wait for others to die before they are celebrated. He wrote;

I survived a terrible accident & nobody came to celebrate my life. If I had died many asoebi groups would turn up to celebrate my life, fake love everywhere. Someone will even choose to buy a 10 million Naira casket to bury me. We must change the way we reason as her people.”

Furthermore, Edochie passed the same message across on his Instagram page. He stressed the need for people to celebrate others.

Celebrate people when they are alive. Whatever you do for them when they are dead is an absolute waste. Glorify people’s successes and not their failures. Let us love more,” he wrote.

This is not the first time Edochie will be preaching against celebrating people after their death. Just recently he condemned societal attitude of wasting money on burials. He tweeted: “I don’t understand the concept of spending so much money on burials. Total waste to me! A person’s life should be celebrated when he or she is alive to join the celebration, not in death. Some1 once asked me for a loan of some millions to use & bury his father. I was speechless.”
