Nollywood actor Clinton Joshua has responded to growing criticism surrounding his refusal to film kissing scenes, defending his personal boundary in a new video that is currently trending online.
In the clip shared widely on social media, the fast-rising star smiled confidently while addressing fans and critics who have questioned his “no-kissing” policy. Joshua explained that his decision is strategic, aimed at protecting his career from being typecast.

Speaking earlier on TVC’s E Splash entertainment show, Joshua had opened up candidly about the issue. “Once you’re good at something, they box you in it,” he said. He added that he deliberately avoids kissing roles because he does not want producers to limit him to romantic or intimate parts. “I didn’t want to be boxed into a certain type of role… I didn’t want to kiss half the girls in Nollywood,” he stated.

The actor, who has featured in several romantic movies since his breakout in 2023 with When Angels Meet, emphasized that turning down kissing scenes allows him to explore diverse characters and maintain control over his image and career trajectory.
Despite the backlash, many fans have praised Joshua for setting clear boundaries and staying true to himself in an industry often criticized for explicit content. Supporters argue that his stance shows professionalism and respect for his personal values.
