Court Adjourns Naira Marley’s Trial As Lawyers “Fight” Over Seat

A Federal High Court in sitting Lagos has on Thursday adjourned the alleged card fraud trial of singer, Azeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley following heated arguments by Lawyers over space to sit.

The presiding Judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo fixed 11th and 12th of December for the continuation of the trial.

The argument ensued between counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Rotimi Oyedepo on the one hand, Marley’s counsel Mr Olalekan Ojo SAN and two other senior lawyers on the other hand.

The Federal High Court in Lagos where the trial is taking place has serious challenges over space, as the courtrooms are generally small.

Naira Marley is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after being slammed with 11-count charge bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards, and fraud.
