Dan Foster: 11 Things You May Not Know About Late Broadcaster

AMERICAN-born broadcaster, Dan Foster has passed away. His demise was confirmed and disclosed on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

Foster, a popular voice on City FM in Lagos, reportedly died of COVID-19.

If you’ve not been keeping track of him, below are 11 things you may not know about the deceased.

  • Foster was born by the name Daniel Foster in Washington, D.C, United States of America (USA).
  • He joined the Marines and attended Morgan State University, where he studied broadcasting and drama.
  • He was married to Lovina Foster, whom he shared his three children with.
  • He worked with a number of radio stations both locally and internationally. And the include –Cathy Hughes Radio One, Virgin Island and Mix 106.5 FM.
  • He joined Cool FM when he relocated to Nigeria.
  • He starred in the 2001 Nollywood blockbuster, Face of a Liar.
  • He won 2003, 2004, and 2005 Nigeria Media Merit Awards for Best Radio Personality.
  • He was the director and creator of the Cool FM Praise Jam concert.
  • He was awarded the 2004 and 2005 Media Person of the Year award by the City People Awards.
  • He was a judge on the 2007 Idols West Africa alongside Dede Mabiaku and Abrewa Nana.
  • He had also feature on Nigeria’s Got Talent alongside Kate Henshaw and Yibo Koko, as a judge.
