Davido Postpones U.S Tour Amid Coronavirus

Davido has joined the list of artistes calling off tour stops amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. 

On Friday the 1 Milli crooner, 27, informed fans on Instagram that his upcoming “A Good Time” tour in North America has been postponed to a yet announced date.

He wrote:

I’m saddened to halt what has been a fantastic sold-out tour so far, but postponing is the right thing to do. The health and safety of my fans and staff is most paramount and nothing else matters. Be safe and see you all soon! God be with us all!” 

Other musical acts who’ve canceled tour stops in response to coronavirus health and travel concerns in recent weeks include british grime rapper Stormzy who indefinitely suspended the Asian leg of his Heavy Is The Head world tour due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak in the region.

Declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, coronavirus disruption has closed movie theatres in China and has reached the British entertainment industry. It has also caused widespread headaches for other Hollywood productions.

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, recorded its first case of the deadly coronavirus disease in February 2020.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has now afflicted every continent on the planet besides Antarctica.

Nigeria has confirmed two cases of the virus with about 100 people quarantined over possible contact with the index patient.

Coronavirus has infected more than 115,800 people and killed over 4,200 worldwide, according to CNN.

However, Davido unleashed the video for 1 Milli, a song from his sophomore album, A Good Time; last week and he uses his lover, Chioma as his muse.

The song is about a story of love and marriage. It was amplified further as it coincided with Davido’s recent engagement to Chioma Rowland. It was well received by fans as an ode to the singer’s wedding with his lover.
