The Delta State Police Command has arrested popular content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, widely known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” for the alleged rape of 20-year-old nursing student Favour Agbro from Ughelli North LGA.

Agbro tragically died by suicide after the incident.

On June 1, 2026, Agbro traveled to Asaba after Ogbonna invited her for content creation training and social media monetisation tips, which he promoted online. Police alleged he took her to a hotel, raped her despite her pleas and subjected her to physical violence.

A widely circulated video shows the suspect, seated across from a man believed to be the victim’s father, pleading desperately: “This is a very terrible mistake, I’m ready to give up everything… please forgive me,” while begging the family for a settlement after his arrest.

Police spokesperson Bright Edafe assured a thorough investigation and commitment to justice.
