American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs could regain his freedom earlier than initially expected after his projected release date from federal prison was moved forward again.
Recent records from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons show that the music mogul is now expected to be released on February 5, 2028, earlier than the previously listed February 20, 2028 date.
The adjustment marks another change to Combs’ expected release timeline since he began serving his prison sentence.
Although authorities have not publicly provided detailed reasons for each change, projected release dates can be affected by factors including time served, good conduct and participation in approved prison programmes.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following his conviction on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
However, the Bad Boy Records founder was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges during his high-profile trial.
The development has renewed public interest in the rapper and businessman’s legal battle, which dominated entertainment headlines throughout 2025.
Despite the earlier projected release date, Combs’ legal troubles are not entirely behind him, as his legal team continues to pursue efforts related to his conviction.
For now, the revised prison record means the music executive could walk free sooner than many initially expected, although his release date could still be subject to further changes.
