JUST IN: DJ Chicken Released from Kirikiri Detention After Meeting Bail Conditions

Popular Nigerian social media personality and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, better known as DJ Chicken, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos after successfully fulfilling his bail conditions.

The entertainer was remanded in prison on July 10, 2026, following his arraignment at a Magistrate Court in Ogba over a viral video in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He faced three counts bordering on threat to kill, conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, and violation of the Cybercrime Act.

DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to the charges. The magistrate granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum.

The conditions were stringent: one surety must be a civil servant, the other a community leader with landed property in Lagos.

Both sureties were required to provide tax clearance certificates, utility bills, NIN, and LASRRA registration, with one being a blood relation to the defendant.

According to sources familiar with the matter, DJ Chicken met all the conditions over the weekend and was released on Tuesday.

Upon regaining his liberty, the content creator expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him during the trying period. “This has been a tough lesson. I’m back stronger and more focused on my craft”.

The case has been adjourned till August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
