‘DJ Cuppy is an Embarrassment to Nigerian Music’ – Kelly Handsome
Singer Kelly Handsome is taking aim at DJ Cuppy, calling her Thursday performance at Gold Dust an insult to music as a career.
Kelly Handsome is one of many to mock DJ Cuppy’s music. However, others have been more concise or humorous in their approach. But the singer seems to be genuinely offended by Cuppy.
In an Instagram post, he suggested that she thought music was child’s play and that no one would listen to her if she was not Otedola’s daughter. He also said her career was a mockery to “real” musicians and an embarrassment to Nigerian music as a whole.
He wrote, “This is like mocking real Musicians, when did we get here? You cannot buy talent. They would’ve paid me or someone to write a proper song for her; bring out her British accent & all but NO.”
Kelly Handsome also wrote that he did not mind if he was branded a hater or an attention-seeker.
